"Detroit City"

      어젯밤 나는 내 고향 Detroit City 목화 밭이 있는 우리집 꿈을 꾸었다.
      보고싶은 엄마 그리고 늙으신 아빠, 자매 및 형제 ....
      그리고 오랫동안 나를 기다려 주는 소녀 .. 그 꿈을 꿨어
      이젠 돌아 가고 싶다.  정말로 집에 돌아 가고 싶어  .....

 

      동네사람들은 내가 디트로이트 시티에서 최고라고 생각합니다.
      그러면서 주고 받은 편지에다 서로가 괜찮다고 하지만 ....
      나는 낮에는 차를 만들고 밤에는 돈 날리고 .....
      그들이 내 편지 속의 내 삶의  처지를 읽을 수 만 있다면 ......

 

        .... 디트로이트 시티 북쪽으로 가는 화물 열차에 몸을 실었고

        .... 그리고 몇 년이 지난 후에 내 시간을 낭비했다는 것을 알게 되었지

        .... 그래서 앞으로 내가 뭘 할지 알아? 내 어리석은(?) 그 자존심을 지녀갈거야

        .... 그래서 다시 남쪽으로 향하는 화물열차를 타고, 사랑하는 사람들에게로 돌아가기로 했네.
